Is Money Like Toilet Paper?

The Hebrew Sage had once declared a powerful prayer that is so relevant in our present climate of greed and economic disparity. You can read the prayer by clicking link: Proverbs 30:7-9

I recognize the prayer is not an explicit mandate to live a middle class lifestyle, but an expression of a heart that has seen what the lust of money can do to an individual. It turns us into animals and reduces people in our minds into money investments, customers or vendors! I have succumbed to sinful greed at times, it leaves you EMPTY! May this prayer be ours today:

"God help me to enjoy life in it's simplest forms: Food, Shelter, Simple Enjoyment, Loving Friendships and a Relationship with YOU!. Grant that I would have enough resources on earth to be blessed and be a blessing to the poor and those around me. You know the amount I and my family needs. Help me to work hard 6 days a week and learn how to rest on the 7th. God give me wisdom to set my priorities straight daily and start the day off listening and mediating on your truths, in Jesus name!"

If your trying to get control of your finances in a practical way I highly, highly, highly suggest the following program. It's free! It has a lot of needed features in our fast paced society where we find ourselves overdrawing our accounts and paying the banks money for doing nothing:

Quicken Online

  • Perfect for new users who want to manage finances online -- anytime, anywhere
  • Want to know what you have to spend? See where your money is right now
  • Bring your online accounts -- bank & credit cards -- together in one place
  • Get bill reminders via text messages or e-mail

I have examined and used a lot of budgeting software and right now this is the best. God bless and may 2009 be a financially prosperous year. May we enjoy God and the life that He has given us. Pual wrote to Timothy and declared, "......put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment" (1 Tim 6:17)

In the process of living remember to tithe consistently and help local ministries, churches, missionaries and people who are struggling in these hard times. One day it could be YOU!
